  • Food grade white mineral UPS oils are used as release agents on bakery pans, dough dividers, cutters, knives, trays, grills, pans, hooks, and other food processing equipment.
  • They are also used as a coating for fruits and vegetables, a defoamer in the processing of beet sugar and wine, an eggshell coating, a float that protects the surface of wine and vinegar from exposure to air, and a grain dust control agent.
  • Food grade white mineral oils are also in the formulations of baby oil, cosmetics, suntan products, bath oils, hair care products, skin lotions, laxatives, and as a drug processing agent.
  • Food grade white mineral oils are used as release agents in the manufacture of candy, smoked fish, dried fruit and vegetables, beef jerky, egg whites, dehydrated foods, and freeze-dried foods.

Description

WHITE MINERAL OIL USP lubricants are food grade white mineral oils stabilized with a Vitamin E oxidation inhibitor. They may be used in potable water systems as well as the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food processing, poultry, pet food, and textile industries. They are free of aromatic species and paraffin wax, as well as heterocyclic hydrocarbon compounds containing sulfur, oxygen, and nitrogen. WHITE MINERAL OIL USP meets the requirements of the United States Pharmacopeia (current revision) and the following FDA regulations:

  • 21 CFR 172.878 Direct use in food
  • 21 CFR 178.3620(a)  Indirect use in food
  • 21 CFR 573.680 

Use in animal feed WHITE MINERAL OIL USP is an odorless, tasteless, crystal clear, non-toxic, food-grade white mineral oil of the highest quality. This oil meets or exceeds requirements of US FDA regulation 21 CFR 172.878. This oil also meets USDA requirements allowing the oil to have NSF H1,3-H,Kosher, and Halal registrations.
